About Open Source Research
There are so many misunderstandings about open source that I feel like I need to clarify some things.
Why this matters
It most probably does not. But I worked in the open source community for a few years, and those were good times. I could not understand though how everything worked from a commercial perspective. So when I got the opportunity, many years later, I decided to investigate the history, apply business patterns — and see what is in there. Many people hated the answer.
